Information we collect

• Contact details such as name, business name, address, email address and telephone number
• Order, delivery, return, wishlist, account and customer-service records
• Payment status and transaction references; full card details are handled by payment providers
• Website and device information, including preferences such as the VAT display setting
• Marketing preferences and correspondence with our team

Utensil World now provides its own account login. We store a strong one-way password hash rather than your readable password, and use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. Password-reset links are single-use and time limited.

• To answer enquiries and provide customer support
• To keep accounts, meet tax and legal duties, prevent fraud and protect our rights
• To improve our catalogue, website and service

Depending on the purpose, we rely on performance of a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests or consent.

Optional website analytics

If you accept analytics, random browser and visit identifiers help us measure traffic, device categories, product interest and checkout completion. Reports available to authorised administrators are aggregated. We do not store IP addresses, full referring URLs, search terms or contact details in analytics events. Detailed activity reports cover 90 days, with older records removed through bounded cleanup. Sales reports use paid order records. You can withdraw analytics consent using Cookie settings in the footer.

Optional ChatGPT ad measurement

With your separate permission, the OpenAI Pixel helps connect confirmed purchases to our ChatGPT advertisements. We send an opaque event reference, purchase value and currency. OpenAI also receives browser and attribution information and, where automatic advanced matching is enabled, may receive customer information hashed in the browser. Our purchase-event code does not send card details, names, email addresses or postal addresses. Test payments are excluded. You can turn this measurement off in Cookie settings in the footer; previous website-analytics consent does not enable it. See our cookie information and OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.

Who we share data with

We share only what is reasonably needed with service providers such as payment processors, ecommerce and hosting providers, couriers, IT support, professional advisers and public authorities where legally required. Providers must handle data securely and only for authorised purposes. Some providers may process data outside the UK using recognised safeguards.

How long we keep it

We retain information only as long as needed for the purpose collected, including order support, warranty, accounting, tax, fraud prevention and legal claims. Retention periods vary by record type. When no longer required, data is deleted, anonymised or securely archived.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Keeping information safe

We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, limit access to people who need it and work with established providers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please keep account credentials private and contact us if you suspect misuse.
